Aloha! I’m originally from Honolulu, Hawaii so I bring the aloha spirit with me to the yoga studio as a teacher, closing each class with, “The Aloha Spirit In Me Honors The Aloha Spirit In You.”
I went to my first yoga class in November 2011 at a Bikram Yoga studio, but decided that yoga was just not for me. In time, I decided to give yoga another chance and I finally began a regular practice in March 2014, fully embracing the many different yoga styles (Ashtanga, Hatha, Iyengar, Kundalini, Restorative, Vinyasa, Yin, plus even Aerial Yoga and Paddleboard Yoga!) I was lucky enough to experience.
In October 2016, I earned my RYT200 with Yoga Alliance and I’ve been teaching yoga ever since. After having a career in real estate (since 1999) helping people improve their financial well-being, I felt fortunate to be able to help others improve their physical and mental well-being through yoga. I teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin yoga, as well as Yoga Nidra. As a student, I have practiced under Sharath Jois, Laruga Glaser, Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann and Mark Robberds.
When I began to incorporate Pilates to improve my yoga practice in 2015, I was amazed at the significant results I saw from just one or two Pilates sessions per week. My Pilates practice enabled me to finally do arm balances by strengthening my core! So in December 2017, I became certified as a Level 1 Pilates Instructor through Peak Pilates with Jessica Schultz. When I discovered Classical Pilates through my training, I realized how similar it was to the principles of Ashtanga Yoga (this will be a great topic for a future blog post!) because they both have the ORDER! I continued to advance to Level 2 certification, which I proudly earned with Lori Hock in December 2018. So far, the highlight of my Pilates career is undoubtedly the very special opportunity I had to be in the Contrology Reformer Workout Video with Ana Caban and Laura Cotler!
Off the mat, I speak fluent French, have traveled to 17 countries, practice real estate and love to explore the beautiful back roads of Northern California on motorcycle rides with my husband.
